This is a celebration to remember a day in 1980 when the former colony of New Hebrides ended its period of rule by the British and French to become the free nation of Vanuatu. On the 30th July, people across the country celebrate with pride this very special day. Join in the 38th celebration this year and share the experience with Ni-Vanuatu people. Enjoy the parade of the military forces, listen to string band music, be amazed by the beautiful hand-made dresses with the colors of the Vanuatu flag. Walk in the middle of thousands of people waving their flags, discover the local food in the so many stalls and try a shell of kava to share the proud history of this young nation.
